DRAFT 2

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE WONOSOBO DISTRICT
The founding history of Wonosobo Regency is inseparable from the story of three wanderers, who entered this area in the early 17th century. The three men, Kyai Kolodete, Kyai Karim, and Kyai Walik, then separated and occupied three different regions. Kyai Kolodete opened settlements in the Dieng Plateau, Kyai Karim around Kalibeber, and Kyai Walik chose the area which is now the City of Wonosobo. Of the three people, the offspring appeared who later became rulers around Wonosobo.
The history of Wonosobo Regency is also closely related to the Diponegoro war period. In the span of 1825-1830, region
Wonosobo became one of the defense bases of the supporters of Prince Diponegoro. Together with Imam Misbach, also known as Tumenggung Kertosinuwun, Tumenggung Mangkunegaran, and Gajah Permodo, Kyai Muhammad Ngarpah fought against the Dutch occupation in the Wonosobo area. In a battle, Kyai Muhammad Ngarpah won the first victory, so he was given the title Tumenggung Setjonegoro.
